Ashutosh Jailed

Mumbai: Big Boss season 2 winner, Ashutosh Kaushik was sent to jail on Tuesday for one day in a drunken driving case, police said.

He was charged with drunken driving after he was found riding bike under the influence of alcohol at suburban Andheri on June 13.

“Ashutosh was produced before a magistrate in Andheri court who sent him to jail for one-day. He was fined Rs 3100 and his license has been suspended for two years,” NB Patil, senior police inspector of Airport Traffic division said.

“Though he had been caught on June 13, two times his advocate sought time from the court. Today the magistrate heard the case and sent him to jail,” the officer said.

The 29-year-old Ashutosh, who is also winner of the fifth season of MTV’s reality show Roadies, had been riding his bike without helmet on AK Road late at night when he was intercepted by police.

Ashutosh, who was one among the three finalists on the show along with Zulfi Saeed and Raja Chaudhary, was nominated for eviction by the house-mates thrice but he was saved by public opinion each time.
